The Fair Air fire mask is supplied for fire brigades with the holder and two filters in a heavy duty zipper bag.
The spare filter allows for an immediate swap over should the filter need to be changed in the field or while washing the other.
The Fair Air fire mask is an Australian designed and manufactured respirator unlike any other.
It removes virtually all particulates, yet is very easy to breathe through.
Tests by the CSIRO (Australia's peak scientific body) show it removes 99.94% of particulates down to 0.3 micron
(about the size of Covid).
P2 masks typically remove only about 94% and N95 masks 95%
The unique Fair Air filters incorporate highly advanced technologies and last for years with just basic care.
Called the 'Fair Air' mask to emphasise that the air the wearer breathes is not normal, re-oxygenated (good) air but far better than the bad air containing all sorts of dangerous particles that would otherwise be inhaled.
Fair Air masks have been proven on firegrounds all around Australia and in many other countries for well over a decade.
Many people have also found them a comfortable way to protect against various other particulates.
Recently thousands were sent to Ukraine by the Australian Government to help protect their rescuers and defenders.
Unlike virtually all other masks it actually works for people with facial hair too.

Why is Alpaca fibre used in the filters? Alpaca is a natural fibre that is highly fire resistant yet doesn't irritate the skin. Alpaca is quite different to wool in that it does not have protruding scales along the fibres which with wool can irritate the skin and also causes piling of woolen fabric. Alpaca is also water resistant so perspiration won't penetrate the filter reducing the filtration efficiency (instead will run down face keeping you cool). The specially developed non-woven alpaca material (we called Pacastat) allows easy breathing and sits in among facial hair to ensure no leakage.
